CBC is committed to helping families discover the life that God intends. To that end, we are launching an important family discipleship program. It has three components: weekly content, a Family Faith and Fun Kit, and the celebration of progress.
If you would like to register your children for in-person Sunday school, please click here.
Each week, you will find parenting tips, family activity ideas, short videos from our staff and volunteers, and encouragement on our children's ministry and student ministry Facebook pages. For seventh–twelfth graders who have their own social media accounts, we also post videos and devotionals on Instagram @cbcwaterfordstudent.
As we begin to offer Sunday school and other in-person activities, the topics will continue to match the materials in your kit. In this way, the home and church will be working in a coordinated effort to teach biblical truths to our children. Contact Pastor Cari at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information about in-person activities.
The Family Faith and Fun Kit (Register Here)
Think of this aspect of the program like a subscription box service from your church. Each quarter, you will receive a daily, age-appropriate devotional guide for each member of your family that focuses on a weekly family theme. The adult version of the devotional is like a parenting magazine that includes daily devotionals. The devotionals are for you, the parent, but can also be used for a five-minute table-talk-style devotion with the whole family.
Each month, you will also receive weekly Parent Pages containing discussion questions, activity ideas, and additional resources to reinforce the weekly family theme. You may also receive a craft activity, game, baking idea, or themed gadget, all of which support the family themes. Again, if you would like to receive a monthly kit, please register here.
Celebrate Your Progress!
We would love to hear what you are learning at home. There are learning challenges in the family devotionals and project challenges given in the monthly kits. Share the verse with one of our kids or youth volunteers on Sunday morning, or record your family’s learning with photos, videos, or audio recordings and email them to Pastor Cari (again, at email@example.com). You can also upload to our age-specific Facebook pages. (The pages are moderated, and posts will need to be approved before they show up in your feed.) Our goal is to celebrate learning as a community. If your family is using the devotionals and activity ideas, please let us know. We have some additional materials and gifts that promote family bonding for those families that are engaged in the program.
