Staff and Leadership

We have a passion for people, our city, and our world. Our culture and leadership is characterized by worship, the love of God, and a genuine call to ministry. These core values have been shaped by our rich history of great co-workers and energy, always pressing forward in our call to love God and love others.

  • Rich Wisely

    Senior Pastor

Pastor Rich has been with us since 2016, and God has given him such an awesome vision for our church. Under his leadership, we relaunched our One Another Groups, started a 5th and 6th grade ministry, came together under one roof again, and began a number of important community-focused initiatives.

  • Pete Mar

    Associate Pastor

Pastor Pete came on board in 2002 to lead our outreach and development. Since then, he has become a friend, a brother, and a counselor to many in our church and throughout Waterford.

  • Cari Staley

    Pastor of children and Missions

Since Cari began working with our children, we have had the privilege to see kids come to Christ, be baptized, and begin a life-long journey of following God. She has restarted our AWANA program, held VBS, and is training up a great team of leaders to disciple our children up into adulthood.

  • mel wisely

    business administrator

Mel is another recent addition to CBC! She ensures that the running and administration of the church is well taken care of, as well as anything else that needs a careful touch.

our mission

In everything we do—from the day-to-day operations of the church to preparing lessons and equipping volunteers—we have one central focus in mind: to preach the gospel and to make disciples of our Lord Jesus Christ.

We do that, first, by continually reminding ourselves and others that Christ died for our sins, that he was buried, and that he was raised on the third day (1 Cor. 15:3–4). We also do it by baptizing new believers and teaching them all that Christ commanded (Matt. 28:19–20)—most importantly, to love God with all our heart, soul, and mind and to love our neighbors as ourselves (Matt. 22:34–40).
