Revive the Church
"A revival doesn't even mean to add more to the church; a revival means to revive that in which you've already got."
- William Branham
So many churches get stuck looking from the outside-in at their church to view it as if it was their first time there. Which yes, that's a great way to think at times when you're trying to reach people and get them to stay at your church. It's good to put yourself in their shoes. But with thinking like that, they often forget about the ones already in the church. The ones who have been there for years. The ones who have been coming long enough that they're no longer "fresh flesh".
We forget to look at those in our congregation and make sure we're leading them well. Leading and guiding them well enough in this evil world. Giving them the knowledge they need to fight those demons every time they leave their home. And honestly, even the demons inside some homes that are tearing families apart. Churches are so outward focused and eager to grow in numbers, but how well is the church growing in their faith?
The ones who come to church on Sunday's but other than that we don't talk to them, how are they doing in their walk with Christ? The ones who never say no to serving, are they getting burnout? Are they still saving enough time to grow in their faith on their own? We don't know because that isn't the biggest priority.
One of my favorite passages i've recently discovered that i've honestly never heard before was Ezekiel 33. I highly encourage you to read it and make sure your holding not just your church up to those standards but also your home.
We are in a war everyday with this world. Fighting to become less like it and more like Christ. And if a church is not being properly led, how are they to grow spiritually? Churches in America need a revival. Not just outside the church, but also within.
